The reason why drugs like generic Zantac are being recalled are because of possible carcinogen concerns. After about two weeks carcinogen was found in the heartburn medications which caused the vast recall. The drugs were recalled from various stores and pharmacies like Walmart, Wallgreens and Rite Aide. Carcinogen is a cancer causing substance in living tissue. The FDA has had to recall several diffferent drugs for various reasons in order to protect people from harm.
