You will be assigned an index number that the judge has regarding your case. This index number will be used to identify your particular case, during all proceedings and correspondence. There will be paper work to fill out to have your case put one a court calendar to be seen before the judge, and paper work to have your spouse served regarding letting them know about the divorce you are requesting.
