Bruce Lee was important to martial arts and the world, because he didn't set limitations on himself. He didn't follow the traditional rules and ways of fighting, but used various techniques of fighting into one. He wanted martial arts to become a complete part of your body, where you didn't have to think of moves, but would automatically respond by nature, of what you should do to protect yourself from harm. Therefore martial arts would be a part of you. He felt that when your opponent new what you were going to do by stances etc. you were putting yourself at a disadvantage. He felt that when an attack would come your should know what to do without having to do a stance or prepare for defense of yourself. This is my opinion. You should just stand there and not move until your opponent moves. This to me makes a lot of sense. If someone is trying to harm you, they should never know what you are about to do, to protect yourself. This is important in all areas of life. Bruce Lee, was teaching us how to essentially live our lives, to protect ourselves from harm. This is important for people to understand and know.
