CSL and Plasma centers work by people volunteering their bodies to make donations of plasma. This plasma that is donated by donors helps to save peoples lives, and various other uses. By donating plasma people are helping others in their community and in the world.
Substance is donated in a way tht is similar to giving blood. A needle is inserted into the donor's arm in the vein. The plasma is then collected through a process called plasmaphereis and taken through cycles to separate the life saving plasma from the blood.

Valuable liquid callled plasma is put in a container by the machine separating the blood and the plasma. The procedure doesn't involve a lot of pain, and people have known to be donors for over 30 years. You are paid to make the donation also.
Hours of operation of most centers is from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You have to be a healthy person to make donations of plasma, and prior to donating people must take a physical exam. This exam is usually done by a registered nurse or doctor on duty.
