The way that coffee works in the body is that the adenosine that binds and also causes the blood vessels of the brain to dilate, help to increase the oxygen intake while people sleep. When the person then wakes up the levels of adenosine that is inside the brain rises within each hour, this then makes the body and brain much more alert than normal. According to the nerve cell the caffeine appears to look like adenosine, therefore the caffeine will then attach or bind to the adenosine receptors, based on the appearance.
